Music for Corporate Events

Choosing music for corporate events can be as simple as picking your favorite genre and running with it, or as complex as making sure that your music fits into the rest of an elaborate theme.

Music for Corporate Events

Music for corporate events can be in almost any style you choose – as long as you have the budget to hire the musicians, and the facility to house both the music and the audience. For the most part, corporate events will fall into one of three categories. The first is a dinner – whether it's a banquet or a buffet, these events are focused on the food. The second is a party, where people come to enjoy the company of others, eat a little, and partake other entertainment. The final type of corporate event that needs music is one where the music itself is the focus – as in the case of a concert.

If you choose to have a dinner for your corporate event, you may not need to include music at all. But a quiet room filled with noisy diners can be a bit much, so most events include at least some piped in classical music in order to make the atmosphere more attractive. Another option is to hire a string quartet, or other chamber music players, in order to set the mood even further. These musicians can add a level of elegance to your dinner event, as well as providing entertainment for those who are in attendance.

Music for corporate events that are structured more like a party can be even more diverse. Depending on the age and tastes of the attendees, you can book bands that play rock or jazz, or choose to have a full stringed orchestra at a formal bash. As many people want to dance at parties (corporate or otherwise), choosing a band that allows this can be to your advantage. Another option is to book a DJ who will play the types of music you specify. This can be a great choice for an event that needs to come in under a budget.

A final look at music for corporate events brings us to concerts. Large and wealthy companies can often afford to stage extravagant events, and these can include concerts given by big name musicians. While not all musicians and bands are willing to play “private” concerts (which are what most corporate event concerts are called), some will play for a fee. These can include really famous acts that will amaze your guests. Choosing to stage a concert for your event is no small task, however, and many companies can't afford all that it entails.

Music can make your event great, or greater, depending on the type you choose to employ. Most planners will agree, however, that music is a much needed accent for most events.
